Letter from the Secretary-General

 
Dear Delegates, 

It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the Daly Emerald Model United Conference 2015. The conference will jointly be hosted by The Daly College, Indore, and The Emerald Heights International School, Indore from the 20th to the 22nd of April 2015. 
 
In today’s world, we are inadvertently sacrificing our future to make the present more comfortable. Based on the theme ‘Act in the Present, Think for the Future’, DEMUN aims to incorporate into delegates the fact that our future is, and will always be more important than the present. We’ve decided to have a various range of agendas that are sure to stimulate the minds of everyone attending the conference. We have also included a few unconventional committees to make this conference truly unique and memorable for everyone attending it. 
 
The Secretariat and Executive Board have made every possible effort to make DEMUN an enriching and fun experience for all of you. Looking forward to seeing you on the 20th of April!

Letter from the Director-General

Dear faculty advisors and delegates, 

 

It is my honor and privilege to welcome you all to the inaugural session of the Daly-Emerald model united nations 2015, an MUN held jointly by The Daly College and The Emerald Heights International School. 
The Secretariat looks forward to setting a distinct benchmark for future sessions by making this session exciting, stimulating and productive. 
We have taken all measures to ensure that the conference is a delight for a wide range of delegates.

 

The chairpersons for each committee are helpful and supportive and will be constantly available before and during the conference to help and guide the first time MUNners and we also have introduced certain non-conventional and dynamic committees for the adept MUNners. These committees include: Ministry of Magic for the Potter heads, UEFA Council for the enthusiastic football fans, and bilateral peace summit on the Kashmir border disputes for young diplomats looking to ease regional tensions and maintain peace. 
Even though these committees are a deviation from the norms, the essence of MUN has not been left out. So, expect a high level of quality of debate, discussion and negotiations.

Letter from the Director-General

Dear Delegates and guests, 
It is my honour and pleasure to welcome you to the Daly Emerald Model United Nations 2015. DEMUN 2015 will be taking place from April 20th-22nd 2015. With the guidance of our supportive staff, we promise to give you a wonderful MUN experience. 
The world at large has been absorbed in selfishness and personal interests. War has never stopped. Acts are staged so violently that today, the human race is only concerned about what happens in the present without worrying about the future of the world and the human race. There is a need to plan and to act in a way such that it is beneficial to us today and for the future as well. Thus, we have chosen our theme as 
“Act in the present, think for the future.” 
The agendas we’ve chosen are ones involving serious debate and need to be solved immediately. Other than having quality debate on global issues, we also have something interesting for delegates, including unconventional committees like the Ministry of Magic and the Union of European Football Associations which will provide a different taste to delegates. 
The DEMUN team has been working very hard to make this conference a success and I sincerely hope that you will all enjoy your time here. We will make sure you certainly do.
