Position Papers

A position paper is a document that provides a clear view of the position of a country or character on a specific agenda and also a brief understanding of the foundation of the policies of the country or character in regard to the agenda.

Delegates must make position papers for both the agendas. Each position paper must be between one to two pages in length (A4), in Times New Roman font, size 12. Additionally, the document must be double spaced and have normal margins.

Mention the committee, school name, character/country and topic area at the beginning of the position paper.

Position papers must be sent to secretariat.demun@gmail.com latest by Monday, 6th April 2015.

Special note:

Delegates representing characters rather than countries or organisations are advised to pay very deep attention to the creation of their position paper; it is very important to understand the nuances of the character in order to successfully represent him/her. Hence, your position paper should also include the personal motivations and hidden agendas of your character. Writing this paper will help you better understand the thought process behind the actions of your charcters and will hopefully enable you to become clear about how you must behave in the committee.
